TL003: “Lolly Jar”

This is one of Gareth's most treasured lamps due to the untold hours spent in experimenting with 'broken colour work,' a finishing technique involving layering multi-coloured enamels as well fine brush work.

The result is simply stunning, and is powerfully complemented by the glowing, irridescent shade and the inline Spade Valve faucet manufactured by Methven Tap Company of Dunedin, New Zealand, about 45 years ago. Each of the 6 pipe elbows used in this lamp were sourced from a vegetable-processing machine inported earlier this century from Sweden. They are unique and unable to be sourced new anywhere in the world.
